Dismantling Information System:
The International Dismantling Information System (IDIS) was developed by the automotive industry to meet the legal obligations of the EU End-of-life Vehicles (ELV). IDIS is the advanced and comprehensive information for pre-treatment and dismantling information of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV). It contains safe handling information with focus on airbag deployment instructions, handling and treatment of high voltage batteries as well as gas vehicles.

Additionally, it provides user friendly navigation to an
extensive database with practical information on pre-treatment, dismantling on
potentially recyclable parts and other elements mentioned in ELV regulations. The
system development and improvement is supervised and controlled by the IDIS2
Consortium formed by automotive manufacturers from Europe, Japan, Malaysia,
Korea and the USA, covering currently 1877 different models and variants from
6g car brands. There are 196,030 parts in IDIS and 6476 registered users in
IDIS. The Data in IDIS is compiled by the vehicle manufacturer and is not
reviewed or controlled by any other institution.
