Google Cloud is a platform for Cloud Computing Services offered by Google, includes a range of hosted services for compute, storage and application development that run on Google hardware.
Google Cloud region:
Compute Engine resources are hosted in multiple locations worldwide. These locations are composed of regions and zones. A region is a specific geographical location where you can host your resources. Regions have three or more zones. A zone is a deployment area for Google Cloud resources within a region.
Cloud region - Delhi :
In India, Google Cloud has its region in Mumbai. Now, they are expanding their services in India with its second ‘Cloud Region’ in the country which was located in Delhi-NCR to further serve customers and the public sector in India and across Asia-Pacific, this is the company’s 26th Cloud Region globally, and 10th in Asia Pacific.
What's new?:
With this new region, Google Cloud customers operating in India will benefit from low latency and high performance of their cloud-based workloads and data, the company said, adding that the region will consist of three availability zones to protect against service disruptions, and offers a portfolio of key products, including Compute Engine, App Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, and BigQuery.
